Why do textbooks always have very stupid picture?
Every single textbook i had, had an image which is totally unrelated to the subject and often times very stupid.Why they don't put some image which would turn people on? Or at least something that would make them look more serious than others?

I'm looking for " Prentice Hall Reader 9th Edition" for my dual credit Comp 1 class. I found it used on bookbyte dot com for $48.10 Is this site legit? If you've had any experience dealing with this site, or other textbook site, I'd really appreciate some advice. And if this site is BS then could you please direct me to a site where I could order this book? Unfortunately I'm flat broke so anything above about 55 dollars is out of my price range Thanks for reading
Has anyone bought textbooks off Half.com?
Did you receive them in a reasonable time frame? Most of the sellers for the book I want only let you choose " media mail" without an expedited option. If it comes anytime next week I'm fine, but the following week might be too late.

I bought a used textbook from my college campus' bookstore. When I got back I noticed there was this black tape across the top of the book, when I took it off it said 'not for resale.'Can I still sell the book online?

College textbooks - Chegg vs half.com?
I love being able to rent college textbooks since I will never use them again after the course is completed but I noticed that Chegg's rental prices are only slightly lower than buying a used book from half.com. For example, an Anthropology book that I purchased over half.com was $44 shipped while it was $35 shipped from Chegg.I can resell my book for at least $30 shipping when I am finished with my course. So really I am only going to be paying $10 $15 to use that book for the semester. Better than renting it for $35.Anybody else agree? I guess if you dont want to go thru the hassle of having to post up the books which literally takes 3 minutes on half.com to resell it then Chegg is the better option.
Do editions of textbooks really matter?
I have to buy a textbook for my biology class. It's a 9th edition which sells for about $130. The 8th edition is about $6. Do the editions really matter, because I'd really like to save $124, especially if I'm just getting basically the same information. NOTE It's a class for non majors, so it won't be super in depth.
